My new to me 2010 997.2 3.8L C2S
I still own my 1997 993 C2 so for at least now I can continue calling myself "My993C2" here on Rennlist (really did not think that user name through clearly LOL), but over the weekend I took possession of a used 2010 997.2 3.8L C2S PDK equipped car. I have been without access to a local race track now since the end of the 2011 season, but a new local'ish track is supposed to open up next year and I am not so sure I should be tracking the 993 any more these days, plus when I did have access to a track I did lust for more power.
Now my dream car is the 4.0L 997.2 GT3 RS, but since they only made 600 of them and I know only 599 (maybe even less) are even in existence, I am pretty sure this car will always remain a dream car. My backup dream car would be the 3.8L 997.2 GT3 RS, but I would need to sell my house to buy that car and that's not going to happen. Then my backup to my backup would be a GT3 and while I probably could make it happen, I would be putting myself in a debt situation I would not want to be comfortable with. So I bought what I figured would be the next best thing, a low mileage (31,500 km or 19,500 miles) 2010 997.2 3.8L C2S. Now as mentioned the car is a PDK car (yes hangs head in shame), that is requiring considerable getting used to since all I have driven since the early 90s has been some sort of manual transmission. Presently the car still only has the stock buttons equipped steering wheel, but part of my deal with the dealer I purchased the car from was that they would include a paddle shifter steering wheel, but until the paddle shifters arrive (which could take a while), I have to make due with the button shifters. However with all that said, the main reason for buying this car was to track it. The 993 is much more engaging to drive, but there is a noticeable performance enhancement with the 997 that I am sure I will love it once I can track it.
I do plan on modding it, but how much I mod it is unknown at this time. For sure I need to do something about the stock exhaust. You can barely hear it. Yuck. Now I don't want to **** off the neighbours with an obnoxiously loud car. But I do need to do something about it. Another mod I would like to address sometime soon is the pedal sets. If at all possible I would like to put a larger brake pedal in there since I do plan on left foot braking the car on the track. But I am going to hold off on modding the suspension until I track it to see how the existing suspension performs. Longer term, not high priority items at this time would be to possibly add a roll bar, racing seats and harnesses (just as long as I keep the original seats in case I need to reverse everything) and I might also look into adding an aero kit. But as I said these are not high priority mods at this time.
Below are the mandatory pictures. But as you view them remember one thing. The car is wrapped. Despite what the pictures show, the car is actually a black on black color scheme. But the wrap was done well by professionals (I don't see any creases or bubbles) and I figured I would keep the car wrapped until the wrap shows serious signs of wear. Of course I do not know the condition of the paint underneath the wrap. For all I know some punk vandalized the car when they scratched "Die capitalistic scum" on the front hood. But I was willing to take that risk. haha
PS: ignore the dead bugs on the front of the car. On Saturday I drove from Edmonton (where the dealer was located) back home to Calgary (a three hour drive) and picked up a few bug splatters along the way and still need to wash the car after the trip. My bad. LOL

The gundo hack is an option. My only concern is that it is permanent and cannot be undo.
Then again most "normal" 911 people don't like the stock exhaust, so I would hope most "normal" 911 people would be okay with a car with the gundo hack already done to it.

Wrap also looks great, but the black rear parking sensors would drive me nuts.
Congrats!

Nice pickup. Welcome to the 997 Calgary club. Have a 997.1s a year now, love it so far. It’s the best car I’ve had. Thought about mods but don’t really see much in it besides exhaust. Mine came with awe full racing exhaust and Techart lowering springs. Wicked blue love it!!
