Default Crackles and Pops like a 991

Are there any exhuast systems that can give the 997.1/2, the same crackles and pops the 991's have?
Thanks

No. Its the software that does that on 991s. You can get a little with an exhaust, but nothing like modern cars.

Correct. Over fueling on throttle lift and down-shifting in the 991.1s with PSE and in Sport Plus mode.

My 997.2 with Fisters and cross over pipes from Billy Boat are giving me plenty of cracks and pops especially on downshifts and 3rd and 2nd gear with PDK auto but more when in manual mode on the PDK which I use very often.

If you can adjust your ECU to keep the injectors wetting the cylinders but turning off the spark when you lift the throttle then yes you can have the exact same sound.

Otherwise no.

You can kind of 'manually' simulate this when engine braking. Shift into a lower gear and maintain a bit of throttle but not enough to counter the engine braking and you'll get that overrun sound.

A "brand new" 2015? Strange. Where's it been the past 3 years? Maybe you meant 'new to you'. Congrats on the new car. You'll only hear the pops & cracks with PSE if you have Sport Chrono on the 991.1.

You'll love it! You'll be looking for viaducts, under-passes, tunnels, and country roads with rock cliff walls.

I replaced my stock mufflers with a Fabspeed system specified for a 997.2 and also had a Sharkwerks muffler bypass crossover pipe already on. I get some serious back pressure, crackles and pops at low RPM and a really sweet sound above 4K RPM. I have had several of my neighbors comment on how sweet the exhaust note is. The exhaust note sounds nice when running through a tunnel or even under an overpass at speed.

If you want to accentuate the burble/crackle, your best bet is to run catless to get a bit of unburnt fuel making it's way into the exhaust, and run an exhaust with little backpressure. That being said, don't ever expect it to sound like a 991 it is programmed into the ECU on those cars, and it cannot yet be programmed into the 997s as I've had someone try haha. What generation do you have a 997.1 or 997.2? Then exhaust systems are quite different on the two cars. If a 997.1, here are two clips that are my favorite exhaust notes to date (one higher pitch and one deeper)

If you're considering an exhaust for your 997 Carrera then iPE should be at or near the top of your list. Not only do you get the sound that you're craving but you get performance in addition to that with HP/Torque gains as well as weight shaving.

There was a time.. when if you didn't want to watch a commercial.. you just didn't turn on the tv. If you didn't want to hear that BS then you don't listen to the radio.

But here we are in 2018 where the commercials are even on internet forums, like it or not. "Buy My Product" (extra large font with graphics)
