My wife was the daughter of a full-time Indiana preacher/ part-time farmer. She's very practical, hates shopping, loves concerts, Tex-Mex food and strong red wines. She packs light because that's the way we travel even in the SUV 
I love her to death! Coincidentally, it is our 30th wedding anniversary today 
I visited my cousin in CA three years ago in a rent car - big mistake. Should have had a real car to do HWY 1 from Sonoma northward. I will next time

My wife took some video of the drive to Story, Indiana with my cell phone and using IMovie in the phone, I made a three-minute video of some of the prettier, twistier sections. Editing controls with IMovie are pretty limited so pardon the cuts.

Great post, sounds like an awesome trip. I have the same seats and tires on my 997.2 GTS and I daily the car. They are amazingly comfortable seats. I sat in a 991 GT3 with the 918 LWB and I couldn't wait to get out of that car.
