Many advise doing both at the same time, but it is NOT called out for in the factory maintenance schedule.
Seems to me that the schedule they put out is BS. I had my PDK fluid and filter + pan changed at 49,500 miles and it was like having a car with a different gearbox. The shift quality is immensely better. Better than it was when I bought the car with 26k miles on it. My car was built in 2011. 6 years would've been early - mid 2017. I bought the car in 2016. It really should have already been done then (or before) based on the massive difference in shift quality before and after. I felt like I was doing it right on time (10k miles early, and give or take within 3-6 months of the 6 year mark), but the difference in how the car shifts tells me it should have been done even before I ever got the car at all, when the car was only 5 years old with 26k miles on it. Seems like Porsche recommendation for how long the oil can stay in the car is stretching it too. I'll be skeptical about Porsche maintenance schedules going forward. I'd have changed that PDK fluid, filter, and pan 2 years ago if I knew I shouldn't listen to what they put out.

I always feel like my vehicles run better after an oil change, but I can't find any proof. The power of suggestion is very strong.

The photos posted of people who've changed the transmission oil and filter-pan early aren't showing anything to be concerned over. I haven't seen a single one that suggests the gear oil or filter is showing any signs of needing replacement.

The PDK is a wet clutch and it is sensible that the clutch oil needs to be replaced on a timely basis. But Porsche separated the clutch oil from the gear oil, and the gear oil should last a very long time.

But like I said, it is right there in the published schedule. Gear oil and filter-pan - 12 years/120k miles.

You're entitled to your opinion and it is your money, but the factory schedule says what it says.

Really, on a 911?

It seems like every other ad I see has these exact words. When am shopping for a car, I pass as soon as I see this. If someone couldn't be bothered to write up a description of their car, they also likely couldn't be bothered to take good care of her.

Ultimo Motors describes every car in their inventory as "immaculate condition". They must have to search high and low to always have 100+ cars on the floor in "immaculate condition". That only describes about 10% of the cars on the road, Porsche or non-Porsche.

That could be because you only change the oil every 20k miles and the oil is all chunky and full of sludge when it comes out

My favorite..."All maintenance records". Really? How would I know if an owner decided to remove any service records and only include "good ones". Get a PPI, that tells you the condition of the car today.

I have bought 4 Porsche's. Each car I had a PPI, and I asked the owner where it was serviced. I strongly suggest calling the service vendor and asking if they know the car and what they can share. We have an indy in town that will let you come to their shop and review everything for that car that they have done. It is amazing the disparity between what they had done and what 2 of the owners shared with me. Or better yet, the indy's frankness, "Stay away from that car, it is in as bad of shape as a $2 prostitute" (their words, not mine)....but I think you get the point.

I'm getting it done first week of ownership. I'd rather not see an $18,000 PDK failure come early because I wanted to save a rounding error worth of money.

As I mentioned in another post, I am inking a deal to buy a very nice 4S for about 41% of MSRP (low miles, full records, no accidents, flawless condition). So life's good.

Whoa, tone it down new guy. @ogun228 and @azaytsev have a valid point. Let's try to be neighborly.

And before you comment on my "status", I was a "member" back in the day until IB went and screwed things up.
