PCM 3 2010 .2 iPhoneX - awesome surprise!
I read a ton of threads before buying my car, and almost went w a 991 just due to me thinking I’d have to swap the h.u. to have my iPhone connected directly to my h.u..
Was really happy to see the iPhone worked great plugged into the harness cable. With the serial (circular) plug in, and usb plugged in (y adapter), and a 30pin to lightning adapter, my iPhone works great!
Next I was concerned about the SQ. I’ve never been a fan of Bose, but have to say in my old m3 w some small upgrades it was pretty good. At first I wasn’t happy with the sound in the c2, although was impressed with how much base the sub had. Once I discovered the linear button it all changed! I’m very happy with the sq now. Could it be better, sure, but as it is now, I wouldn’t change anything, just not worth it.
Last thing, I really thought the 991 interior was far superior, and again almost went with that, however as soon as I saw the .2 I feel in love with the interior.m, and a week later of ownership (1000miles clocked), I couldn’t be happier!
Sorry for making a seperate post about this, but there were too many posts about not getting iPhones to work, or about the poor sq... plus figured this is more targeted to those considering a 997.2 vs a 991 where the pcm system plays a part of the overal decision (of course we know the 997 is more of a drivers car )

I just bought that iPod / USB cable from Suncoast Porsche to use with my old iPod (1500+ songs). Works great on this 997.2 PCM.

Seeing as how the car is new to me (couple of weeks or so) and the cable just came in the other day and only driven it a few miles since then, I've not gave it that much though yet I guess.
But as to the interface. I can pick Artist , Album, Genre, or specific tracks. Seems legit to me.
Of course I must say, I'm NOT a huge music person like some. Personally I'd rather listen to the car, but like some tunes every once in a while.
Usually have my GF or someone else with me, as this (neither of my vehicles) are my daily drivers. I don't have a commute, I have a take home patrol car so I go 10-8 from my driveway. My vehicles stay parked 90% of the time. I drive them when I have time off or need to go somewhere or just need some smiles from a quick P car drive.
