Is the bypass a cat bypass?

Yup .... with PSE I like having the ability to quietly leave the neighborhood at 5.45am in quiet mode, then opening up the exhaust note after I head onto the highway. I really like the balance of my current set up, but the voices in my head will likely kick start my ADHD to start looking at this as a potential next step

I was testing my Gopro mount with separate audio mic setup on one of the bumperettes for one of my cruises later this month, and recorded a video. Only exhaust mods on this car are Tubi Style exhaust with center muffler bypass. Please excuse the picture quality (a little VHS-ish), it's uploaded at 540p (smaller size), but the audio quality should be good still. I took the car through some normal-ish driving RPMs with a cold start and a free-rev at the end.

This is probably the closest I've heard in terms of audio vs real world. Having said that what it doesn't capture well is the volume of that exhaust, especially in the tunnel run. It would have been ridiculously loud in there, and the Mic struggle to capture that. This isn't a dig at your equipment, it's just an observation of recorded vs real world highlighted to perfection. Great choice in exhaust, but I might be biased

I agree, the mic didn't pick up the full volume range. I once stood at an angle behind my driver side quarter panel, and had a friend rev it up to 7K while it was warm in a enclosed parking garage, and my ears were ringing after that experience.

Here is Milltek Supercup (catback) vs Stock.

IMO the 997.1 engine sounds like a food processor under light and medium load (part throttle). Really crappy sounding. It only sings a nice song under full WOT.

My 2007 997.1 C2S cab

Gundo hack with 1" connecting pipes
Design911 silicone intake hose and Resonator delete (for intake sound inside car)
Stock air filter and no other mods.

Good quality audio (Rode microphone and GoPro video) from outside with microphone on rear license plate:

https://youtu.be/NEhkb1zl8z

From inside. Above 5.000 rpm you hear the wonderful intake resonance....45 seconds into the video it's most audible

Saw this thread, thought I'd contribute! 997.1 3.6L, borla headers, awe 200cell cats, borla mufflers, fabspeed intake.

the borla headers I have use merge collectors and look remarkably similar to the fabspeed headers. (Went with them over fabspeed because they were on sale for $700 vs Fabspeeds $1600, and never heard of a bad borla product.)
as far as the sound change from just headers, I'm not sure, I did the whole kit at the same time.

that's frustrating to hear! I absolutely love the way everything sounds with my car after putting everything on. video attached is in-cabin, with about ~2/3 throttle 2nd and 3rd gear. I've had other 911 owners follow me to the gas station/store etc asking how I made it sound like that. Definitely not disappointed!
