Is Eibach Pro Kit enough of a drop?
Well the mod bug hit and I'm going to start making my 997.1 my own. I've decided to go a sport-classic route: aero bumper, ducktail (likely from Getty), and fuchs replicas.
For the wheels, is the drop offered by the Eibach Pro Kit sufficient? I live in Houston and our roads aren't the smoothest so I would like to retain as much oem-like ride quality as possible... but get rid of the 4x4 look, which will just worsen with the new wheels.
If anyone can source photos of a base Carrera on 19" fuchs replicas with a Pro Kit, that would be awesome.

Eibachs are the perfect drop in my opinion. Ride quality isn't harsh either. I found it same or better than stock springs with no pasm. My recommendation would be 15mm spacers and the rear and front. I have 7mm on the front and they are still a bit too tucked in.

Great! I will likely drop it first and then see about spacers. I'm really OCD with keeping my rims curb-rash free, even at the expense of having the perfect flush fitment...
Another question, in lieu of making a brand new thread: does anyone know if the wiring harness provided by Getty for the ducktail sport classic is the same as the wiring harness available from Porsche? The price delta is significant, as the Porsche wiring harness for third brakelight can be found cheaper elsewhere (if it is indeed the same).

I had eibach springs on my 996, and ended up going coilovers because i thought it needed a bit more. The eibachs are how it should come from factory IMO.
this round i am going H&R to get just a bit lower than eibach and avoid doing over like last time

Thank you all! I am going to go with the Eibachs and see how it looks.
Anyone have input regarding the ducktail wiring harness?

I recommend starting a separate thread, just to get more exposure.
There's a set of members who won't open this thread because the topic isn't of interest to them.
But someone with specific knowledge would probably crack open a thread if it has ducktail / harness / etc. in the subject line.

I know I am the Eibach guy, but my wife has been on numerous very long drives in the 997 and she's fine with the ride. That's the real seal of approval. It's not on level ground which is why the rear looks a little tall.

i have a few questions for you if you don’t mind.
What kind of driving do you do?
Was this done for looks or for handling?
Besides the Eibach kit did you do control arms and spacers?
Since you are changing the basic geometry of the car what else did you do to compensate for the lowering?
Thanks in advance
