Hi,
The idle problem was indeed a bad throttle body. More specifically, there was a lot of play in the butterfly valve which caused it to wobble around on its own. That accounted for the uneven idle. They replaced it and now the idle holds steady.

Thanks for the confirmation and coming back to this thread. Perhaps you'd want to add 'SOLVE' at the title to help others when googling.

I have exactly this noise and my RPM is unstable in idle. GTS 2011 997.2 PDK
What is the exact part number that fits GTS? Or 997.2 3.8 (if the same)
Thanks

Did the hesitation/problem in idle caused by the throttle show fault?

No codes in my case.
Easy-peezy to replace. Replaced the TB nearly a year ago and idle still smooth and throttle response is crisp as expected.
Roc Auto had the cheapest one last year, under the Bosch part number. The actual part had the Porsche part number etched on it, so it wasn't a cross-ref, it was the actual part direct from Bosch.

So replacing the TB solved the problem for you?
It is important to pay attention to the vacuum pipes on the right and left sides. They tend to fail and this can also affect the idle.
