I just received the suncoast ad that featured this update. I plan to ask for it during my annual service this summer.

I just received the update update discs/license key and have an appointment to get them installed in early June. Hopefully these maps are really 2018. I was originally told there would be no more updates, I guess that was bad information.

Why bother? there is no assurance that this update will take effect
and Suncoast says that it is NOT returnable under any circumstances.
WAZE is way better, costs nothing and is constantly updated. If you need
a recommendation, both UBER and LYFT drivers use it.

Sounds like a monstrous waste of money in the age of continuously updating cell phones and unlimited data plans.

I've had my car for 3 years and 24k miles and have used the car's nav *once*

Integration into the on board computer is my preferred choice, I get visual info in the instrument cluster and can keep my phone in my pocket. Ive been in Uber using that system, and they seem often to take the scenic route because thats what those systems suggest. Not necessarily the best option. One can purchase the upgrade through ones dealer I assume and thus only pay for the thing if the dealer successfully gets the thing installed and working.

Sorry; but to rely on any part of the painfully outdated navigation system at this point is foolish.

use your phone - put it in a holder/mount/whatever and view it. Whatever app you decide to go with will be constantly updated VS discs that cost several hundred each.

lets all agree the NAV at this point in ANY 997 is garbage. No if and or buts about it.

I had it installed at my dealer a few months ago and it has all the local road changes in my area (Dallas TX). It took a couple of hours.

Can you confirm the date of the maps?

If it is that current, I might go ahead and do it.

Although the PCM3 is long in the tooth, mine does still work perfectly well. I wouldn't mind having a current map in it.

Until you get pulled over and get a ticket for simply "touching" a cell phone while in the driver's seat. NYS LAW FORBIDS EVEN TOUCHING YOUR CELL WHILE IN THE DRIVER SEAT, regardless of whether or not you are making a phone call or texting. I know, because it happened to me in NYC!

And let's not forget if you decide to drive from NY to Penn and go through the Poconos (or similar area anywhere else in the world). NO CELL SERVICE = NO WAZE EITHER!

Hi Mike

I can see that your PCM 3.0 has been updated to v2.25 and it was a Porsche dealer that’s did it, my official Porsche dealer tells me that v2.24 is the highest version available, I think it is because they are lazy.

is it possible that you can help me with a photo of the screen that shows v 2.25

Best regards
Morten

I had my PCM replaced on my 2011 a little over a month ago, would it be the latest version?

I am 99% sure that a new PCM 3.0 is firmware v2.25.

The question is why Porsche dealers only update to firmware v 2.24 when you buy an upgrade
