You've never driven on 680 in the east bay! It's like driving on a washboard. We don't deal with snow in the bay area, but the ground shifts all the time from earthquakes, even little ones, and it seems whoever constructed the roads didn't consider that it does rain here. California is also not good at fixing the roads, inspite of all the taxes and the recent hike on fuel tax.

East Coast vs West Coast... meh... try driving across Romania! They hardly have a highway system (more like state roads). Talk about some rough roadways!
