Extended warranty for > 10 year 997
Now and then I come across some nice 997.1's that are in good shape, low miles and all but they are like 2005 thru 2007 where extended third party warranty is not available. Most warranty companies do only upto 10 years older or so. Any tips if anyone got warranty for older 997's ? Any related pointers in this regards appreciated..Thanks

carmax might cover older models, not 100%, I bought a 6 year old car from them.

carmax does not sell > 10 year 911's or caymans. If you look now you will see oldest is 2008 model's. Sometimes they do sell 11 year old if in excellent shape i think. They provide extended warranty for only cars they sell. It is the equivalent of cpo or platinum level coverage at a fair price

They are very knowledgeable and for my situation, they recommended Autopom and specifically the Exclusionary plans.

I just got off the phone with Carchex and since I'm in CA, they don't offer a warranty for Porsche and depending on state, they do cover up to 2006. They said to be very careful on Fidelity and Delta Auto extended warranty.

"Our Exclusionary plans extend coverage to virtually all mechanical and electrical components in your vehicle unless the part is specifically listed as not covered. An exclusionary-type policy is the most comprehensive vehicle protection plan you can purchase, and is most comparable to the manufacturer’s warranty.”

I spoke to a fellow named Ben @ 619-377-0053 after I filled out an online quote. He's a representative from Carchex for CA customers. He informed me that it changed and they no longer offer ext warranty for Porsches so you must have been on their grandfather plan or the car was not from CA. I'm going call Autopom tomorrow. He said the one that will cover you the best is exclusionary, not inclusionary.

I would try Fidelity. They are covering my transmission failure and engine repair with no difficulty ($$$). I have a 2008 911 and purchased just a few months ago.

I have a 2007 that I got last August with 15,000 miles and Fidelity sold me a 6 year 60K mile platinum plan for just over $4K.
Mike with Mossy Motors told me the miles and the VIN# is all they go by and the fact that my car was 11 model years old was not an issue.
