Back in a 997 :)
Recently purchased a 2005 997 C2 6MT here in Seattle. Previously had a 2005 997.1, got rear-ended and totaled a couple of years ago, tried a couple of Audis, but missed a 911.
Initially I was looking for a 997.2 due to bore scoring fears, but then gathered enough confidence on 997.1 to jump in.
Car has 90k miles, has a lot of service history and most importantly, passed a PPI with bore scope.
The white colour reminds me of my old '86 3.2, which I regret selling even today.
It needs a couple of items addressed soon-ish:
- Tires: I'm going with the current all-season, Bridgestone RE970AS. I read up a lot, and there don't seem to be a lot of options (it's either Bridgestone on Continental or Michelin)
- Front brakes and rotors: I'm thinking OEM or close to it in terms of performance
- Springs: Currently it's lowered with H&R springs. Will revert to stock/comparable springs if the ride is too harsh. And I don't like the tucked-in look of the wheels too (no spacers).
I have a few mods in mind, but will get to them patiently
- Wheels: I like the Fuchs wheels, will probably go for a knock-off/replica
- Tail lights: Might go LED depending on looks, price range
- Ducktail: Still not decided if it will be the spoiler-insert or the full-decklid
- Head Unit: Car has a Tranzit Blu HF, will see if I hate it enough to move to LaPower or swap the head unit itself (have done it before in my old 997)
Looking forward to enjoying this car year round - will be my DD. And BTW, I used PenFed for financing, good rates, great service, quick turnaround

Three Wheelin'
Very nice and welcome back! I remember seeing that in the trader and almost inquired about it. I just bought a 997.1 several weeks ago and it had old PS2 from 2006. I went with new PS4S but haven't had a chance to test them out yet. They have good reviews and prices are moderate.

White looks so nice on 911’s! And yes, PFCU rocks! Congratulations and welcome back to a 911 👍

Congrats and I love the white. I'm in the Seattle area too. I have a set of 20" HRE for sale if you are interested. Rear tires are nearly new and they are Michelins. I threw away the fronts because they were old.

Thanks a lot folks
@ajayabb: Yes, I too had a lot of attachment to that car. I was on the verge of purchasing it from insurance and restoring it.. but it didn't make sense financially (down the line, resale etc).
As a side-question, where can I get a Gundo hack done in the Seattle/Eastside area? Does Dan Fast Mufflers do a good job?
