No affiliation but highly recommended if they're really on "sale". The regular price make them a "forget it" item to most 997 owners but if they've come down to a reasonable level I think they're worth another look. Other than adding a custom steering wheel, I can't think of another mod that makes a bigger difference in how you connect with the car. Takes a bit of getting used to getting in and out of but once seated they're actually quiet comfortable.

I think they were 6-7% off or something like that when I was looking. Still can't stomache paying $10k+ for seats that would pretty much be worth 20-25% of the car itself.

There were a couple of dozen sets still available. Maybe we can have a group buy

Craziness. But it's a high demand item for those who really want them. Used sets sell for $6K to $7K. Odd thing is that once they're in the car they don't seem to add that kind of value if any value at all. The last two 997's I bought both had these seats and I paid no more than typical market for either one. Probably because to some buyers with mobility problems such as a bad back or a "full built" they're actually considered a detriment.

These seats hammered at $16,250 + auction fee + shipping (if not local). Damn! Just a couple years ago they were about $11K USD new from Carnewal.

That’s just silly. How on earth are these things worth $16k?

You have to sit in them and get the sense of just how much they transform the car. They add an incredible connectivity with the car that just has to be experienced to appreciate. That said, I have to agree that $16K is probably not what I would pay no matter how much they add to the driving experience. These were 991 seats but they look identical to the 997 versions which last I saw them for sale at Suncoast they were around $10K as I recall it.

Used 997 sets have fetched anywhere between $7K and $10K last I checked. As flatsixfan18 said....supply and demand. I can't find the 997 version on Suncoast anymore and they are in high demand (among a small pool of buyers) but very difficult to find. That combination drives the price up on anything for sale. If somebody offered me $16K for my used buckets I would say thanks but I want to keep mine. That's how good they are. Also about 40 lbs lighter for a set of 2 than any other Porsche seats as I recall it.

I thought the 997 folding buckets went for about the same as the 991 ones. I agree in that the seat raises the engagement level when driving and they’re very cool looking, functional with the folding and airbags, but $16k? I guess that’s the market.

edit
yep, 16,750 for the 997 version on bat a couple of weeks ago ... so call them 17k now and that's without shipping.

I’m after a set but over 10 or 12g I’m not sure it’s worth it, and definitely not 16g. I might just go sparco SPX route. I guess I’m just cheap lol.
