hvac blower motor replacement
My HVAC fan is squealing like pig! I picked up a new one and did the initial tear down. I read somewhere that you just have to move a duct over and it slides out, but that doesn't seem to be the case with my car. Are there any write ups on this? I hope I don't have to take out the glove box, someone stripped out a couple screws

I have had the exact same issue on my 997.1 2005. I bought the new hvac blower and i can really recommend you removing the glove box since it makes the remove/install so much easier. Take a look at the second half of this video regarding the glove box.
For removing the hvac, look at this:

Thanks for the links. I think I have the same problem as this guy: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ease-help.html
It makes it extremely difficult to remove the cupholder assembly w/o damaging the leather.

Closing the loop on this.
My cupholders are pretty trashed, so I got aggressive and jammed a screwdriver against the top of the bolt while I unscrewed. It took a while, but the bolt finally came out. I removed the glove box based on the video above, from there, just undo the black cross member looking thing and the fan drops out.
I used some 3M Body protection and wrapped the cupholder shut!
