Over-rev report help
Hi everyone!
I'm in the midst of buying my first Porsche, a 2007 4s!
I just received the over-rev report from the dealer and here are the results:
Range 1 - 5844 (@1061.2h)
Range 2 - 1036 (@1061.2h)
Range 3 - 157 (@1061.2h)
Range 4 - 13 (@684.9h)
Nothing for range 5 or 6 - total engine time: 1062.0h
I have two questions:
1) Is it really bad? The car has always been maintained at the same dealer every year by the two previous owners, nothing big has been replaced under warranty, the service records are impeccable.
2) How can the overrev happen literally 0.8h after the start? is that an intern at the dealer who screwed with the car? the first customer that screwed up driving out of the lot?
3) the range 4 685h ago - can we assume if it screwed up the engine it would have been caught by now?
Thank you and I hope to be a proud owner soon!

No its not bad, don't worry a out range 1 and 2 - they are under the red line, range 4 was nearly 400 hours ago - check out 911virgins over Rev explanation on their website. You might want to borescope just in case.
If you are going to worry about it pass and keep looking, plenty of other cars out there that have been babied...

and (unofficial) rule of thumb is 50hrs after an incident - if you're fine then, you're prob in the clear.

You are probably in the clear with the range 4 since its been nearly 400 hours.
The range 3 being less than an hour ago is a little concerning because it was likely a dealership employee or another test driver that ran it to/past redline... but its so small and 'only' range 3 so its probably ok.

Thank you, everyone, for your input!
After looking at the impeccable service history at the dealer (kind of person saying yes to whatever is recommended) I felt confident enough to buy it!
It's not every day you have 36000 miles car in showroom condition.
I'm very excited to be finally part of the Porsche community!
