In Italy there a way of saying that sounds like "don't do to somebody else what you don't want somebody else does on you".
Of course I'm no contemplating, but it is also true that I can sell the car selling it with a lower price than normal stating my doubts as they are. My concern in rebuilding the engine is: will it work as new? If the reply is yes (and in case of Hartech even maybe better) or not? In this case I'd sell it loosing money

danym I had my engine rebuilt by Hartech, these guys know their stuff!
As others have said get ready and budget for more than the quote, as it will depend on if they find anything else when they pull the engine apart! I did everything that could be done to the engine, except making it a 4.0l, it wasn't cheap.
I would personally ship the whole car as Hartech can road test after the rebuild and the drive back to Italy is a good way to run the engine in for the first 1000 miles!

Nick, thanks a lot for your reference
Please, can you (as indication) send me a PM with the final price and what you did more?
It will be of course just for myself, it won't be circulated at all

Hi, actually I've even a foreseen cost provided by them and based on the diagnostic we could do over the phone.
If you sum the costs in the link you've put (aroud 7000k £), it results well below the number they've given to me, that's also the reason why I'm trying to understand how much more it could be a well done job like the one done by Nick
As said, I'm interested in doing a complete well done rebuild.
