1. At 16 yo, 1981, I found a 71 (I think) plum crazy vert, 440 6 pack, manual. Dad wouldn't let me buy it. 44000 mi. Owner was asking $3400.
2. 31 yo, just out of fellowship training, 1996. 1989 S2 Cab, silver blue metallic over linen, manual. 19k mi. Owner wanted $19,000.

Summer 2005. Considered silver on tuxedo (two tone) C43 AMG. Booked a day two days away to test drive. Get a call the day before to say an offer was received on it. Test drove it anyway. Gave the salesman a bollocking because I knew he told the other buyer that I was coming to leverage a deal (essentially said he lacked integrity). A few days later he calls me and said they got another C43 in, and asked if I would be interested, but black on black. Told him no, life moved on. Several years later, in November 2009, finally bought a C43. Ironically, black on black lol.

Summer 2014, managed to finally have enough cash to buy a 997. Made contact with Weissach in Vancouver and told them my basic requirements. Said they’d give me a call. Then see in their site a low mileage 05 C2S with TechArt skirts, front lip, small rear wing and wheels. Call them and find out an offer made on the car already from someone else, because the sales manager I was dealing with was out of town. Boo. Two months later ended up with my car, same sales manager I had dealt with before, but he wasn’t out of town at the time lol. Kicker for me was the X51 on my eventual car. Haven’t looked back since.
