2012 C2S PDK
#2
I feel like I have seen both on newer cars (button on wheel and paddles), I drove a Boxster S with the paddle shifters recently and found them to have very long travel to the shift point, meaning it took a lot of effort to pull the lever back to shift. I don't know if that was something you adjust, but I found it distracting. Having said that I am also not a huge fan of the button shifters, I do really like the PDK gear selector, nice positive shifts.
I would drive it before you jump in and see what suits you.

It depends on which 2012 C2S PDK you mean. The 997 2012 C2S does not necessarily come with paddle shift. A Sport Design steering wheel must be optioned in order to have it or else it can be purchased for about 1k seperately. I bought a new sport design wheel for my car which didn't have one. The 991 2012 C2S PDK comes with it I think. I believe in 991 generation on Carrera S the Sport Design wheel is a no cost option. I'm sure someone will set me straight on that if incorrect.
