PASM Shock replacement options?

FWIW, my 2007 c2s had a front shock replaced under warranty last year...34k on the car at the time. I asked what the other would be to replace as it makes sense to get them done in a pair...$1,650 for the shock installed. DK where $500 came from but jeez...big $$. The PASM shocks are special....
