My first 911 - 06 997.1 C2S
Hey everyone!
I recently picked up my first 911. This isn't my first Porsche as I have a Boxster 986 that I've had for a few years. It's an older Boxster and I've always liked to tinker/wrench/mod my cars so it was a quite fun taking on a few projects with her.
I've always wanted a 911 but just never really committed to finding one and would always look to see what was available. This month I found one that seemed pretty good and had a look at it. Turned out we have mutual friends and he was eager to sell to get a '13 Turbo.
I now have the feeling I should have had when I bought my first Porsche. I'm excited to drive her and find out all the things about the 997.1. This forum has been great with all the different threads and opinions.
The car came with 19" wheels, a carbon fiber steering wheel and yellow brakes. I'm an audio geek so first thing for me would be to upgrade the stereo, add some bass and a total cleanup of the paint and interior. I'll find some new wheels in the spring and currently not sure what engine mods I will do. The car has AWE tips but not sure if it's on the factory PSE. The car growls a bit but I'd like it a bit louder.
Looking forward to engaging with the community and trying to get as much driving in before I park her for the winter.

PM me and I will give you some background on a full audio/video upgrade path. Many of the 'serious' drivers here aren't much interested in audio, except in the key of "Flat-6."

Thanks for the offer! I’ve been looking at different audio threads and deciding what speakers I will be using. Will definitely swap out the head unit and all the speakers. Will also build an sub enclosure in the back deck. Haven’t decided what subs but probably 2x 10’s or a single dual voice coil 12.

Welcome and think your new car looks great.
Attached is the write-up on the Focal speaker upgrade I did if you're looking for some ideas.
I also have some fully polished and clear powder coated forged Champion RS171 wheels for sale in The Marketplace (https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...ls-for-nb.html) that would look great on your black car to get rid of the black with black wheel monochrome look. They also clear PCCB brakes as I have those on my car too.
Also, get yourself 2 of the wheel guide pins from Suncoast (https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/99957107430.html). They thread into the lug bolt holes and will protect your PCCB rotors when installing or removing wheels. I also put a piece of wood under the tire that's just a little thinner than the gap between the tire and ground, which makes it easier to slide the tire across the ground and away from the car. PCCBs are awesome though - no dust, will last the life of the car with street use (pad change only) and have great stopping power, especially when hot.
My Email is petza914@gmail.com if you want to talk about the wheels or have questions on the stereo upgrade. Enjoy that new ride.

Congrats man that is a real gem of a 911 you chose. I'm a huge fan of PCCB on a black 997S - I searched over 11 months and bought one myself! 12 years and 96,689 miles on stock pads still going strong! You're going to be very happy with this car enjoy!
