can someone tell me where the starter motor is on a 2006 997 turbo please

There is no 2006 997 turbo. The 997 turbo started as a model year 2007 - in the US. Not sure where you're located. Try Google and you may find your answer

I mean there arent that many choices. it turns the flywheel, so that makes it either on the left or right of the bellhousing

IIRC behind the AOS top middle of the engine. $200 part unless you go to Porsche.

The Turbo/Metzger starter is located on the right side of the transmission, above the axle. Not under the intake manifold as with Carrera/S.
