Default Clock on my 997.1 is slow, is there a "fix"?

Anyone else have this issue? It isn't a huge problem as I always wear a watch and have a phone on me, but kind of annoying.

Is there a fix for this?

It's a common problem. No fix that I know of. Funny that the greatest German sports car builder of all time can't make a digital clock that keeps time!

Nope, both of mine have the issue. Set it 5 minutes fast and a few months later, do it again. For a short time in the middle of that period, it will be right

+1 I bought my car 2 years ago and have wondered how a digital clock can run slow. I thought it related to how slowly the cd player shows the next track when you skip a track.
The outdated computer aspects of a 2006 Porsche remind me of watching War Games now

My '06 has this from new - what I have noticed is that if I don't use the car that frequently the clock doesn't lose time as quickly - than once when I was starting the car I actually so a minute go backwards... literally take a minute off the clock - haven't seen it since but wonder if that happens more often then I've seen.

When I read your question to my wife over breakfast she said “that’s the least of his problems, wait till he finds out about bore scoring”.

Unfortunately, the digital readouts on the more modern Porsche 911s suffer from this anomaly. VDO made the best clocks for Porsche and they were very accurate until the 996 came out and did away with those clocks. (I have one on my nightstand because it is so accurate).

To avoid the problem the only real solution is GPS. Porsches with GPS navigation have their timepieces updated routinely by the GPS time. That was another reason why I ordered enhanced navigation for my 2006 S. I would never have to touch the clock again!

It’s at least consistent enough that you know That the clocks in Porsche are worthless.
