The real question is... how will you feel if you pass on it. Will you kick yourself? Or will you move on and continue the hunt? Has you "Ideal" car come and gone before or have you been looking for this exact car for some time. My buddy wanted Cobalt blue and it took him six months and an additional $3k compared to me.

When you find the car in the color and options you want pull the trigger. Keep in mind owning a P car is not a marriage for life. Drive it until your bored, sell it and buy another.

Fun times.

Buy it!
Sounds like a great car. I now plan to go back and look at the car with my checkbook in hand.

I would feel bad and probably regret it. No, just started looking three weeks ago. First "ideal" car. Heading back soon to see it again.

The color combo and low miles make the car unique.

If in your price range make it happen.

If you dont really care about color then no worries lots of 997 come up for sale.

Keep us P car nuts posted.

Will do.That blue/sand beige combo is what has me so interested. Have seen less expensive cars in other colors but none come close to this for me.

If I were shopping in your price range, I would lean towards a 997.2 (2009-2012) which has the more reliable, more powerful engine (no IMS, better oil distribution), as well as an upgraded PCM with bluetooth and a number of other nice upgrades. But either way, you won't regret buying a Porsche.

Do yourself a favor...save 15k and buy my old carrera s that is for sale in Las Vegas.

http://www.audilasvegas.com/used/Por...9a51bf07d1.htm

Dealer calls it a 4s but it s a 2s....my avatar is exactly the same car that is for sale.
106k msrp in 2006.
I still have all the records at my house here in LA.
72k miles...i did all the maintenance...and car runs great.
It has sport exhaust and sounds MUCH better than my newly acquired 997.2 4s.

Good luck,

Toni

This is would be my first Porsche.

Thanks. RJ
This is a 2006, more mileage, but cheaper and loaded from an enthusiast (at least from the ad details).

I would much rather buy private party than dealer for a 911. You get a good feel for the prior ownership and how they cared for the car. I don't like dealing with dealers unless the price is unbeatable, which usually it isn't. The exceptions would be out-of-season sales; getting a 991 for 997 pricing because both are 2012 MY and the Ford dealer was clueless about the trade they took, or when I saw a 997 GTS listed as an S, with 9k miles, priced for $69,900, also a Ford dealer.

Usually however, dealers will charge more and offer you much less peace of mind. Both of my 997's came from enthusiasts along with a big stack of service records.

I saw that car on AT! Seemed like a great deal, almost too cheap.

It was my old car.
No surprises.
It was owned by a dentist in Newport Beach and had a minor accident reported to carfax.
Nothing to worry about.
Then I owned it almost 3 years....took great care of it.
In the carfax it shows they found damage during my ownership...it s a bunch of BS.
In my garage, neighbor opened the door and dented my driver door that was repaired at my friend s body shop. When I traded it in....they did an inspection and found "damage".
I would not hesitate to buy it back.
Solid deal.

You should put that in the 997 sale deals thread. It would be great for someone here to snag it. Most people will pass on a random carfax-blem car online, but if they know the history and the owner, and the price is right, it certainly changes things

The ONLY Blue/Tan 2008 blue tan Cab S I could find has 37,000 miles and they want $47k at a Porsche dealer.

This tells me two things; its a hard color combo to find and your dealer has the better deal assuming it checks out.

If this is the car that speaks to you, jump on it before its gone. A couple extra $$ is worth getting what you want.
