Got my Fisters delivered today! Thank you Darin, they look amazing! I'll get them on this weekend and put up a sound clip.

How much is the shipping charge? And how did you ship your mufflers out? Just wrap in plastic?

I think it was $50.00 for shipping to me. To send the cores back, Darin gives you a return shipping label with the new mufflers. Just put them in the box the new ones came in, and put the return label on.

What size bypass pipe did you go with 2" or 1.5"?

I haven't looked. Its whatever size Fister uses standard.

little hard to describe but the smaller the bypass pipe the more of a metallic exotic sound you will get and the larger 2.5 gives a more deep bellow and rumble ....1.5 and 1.75 kinda gives a little of both and is a cleaner sound ...very Porsche classic flat six sound

I had them installed at Fister. Darin and team were great to work with. Went with ceramic coating and black tips. Really nice sound

I just ordered my Fisters today. Other than wheels and calipers, this will be my first Mod. Really stoked as I've been searching for a way to get a better sound out of this beast without having to get rid of my OEM exhaust. I really didn't want to go after market on anything related to the performance - after all, I paid for Porsche parts! So I'm super excited I stumbled upon the Fister hack last night and was so excited to place my order today. Can't wait to get them.

My question is, how difficult is the swap out of the Mufflers? Did you guys find it was an easy DIY or did you take it to a local Muffler shop?

Cheers,
M

DIY but I have a lift. Have heard taking the rear bumper off makes it much much easier. Without a lift, I'd definitely take that bumper off.

Didnt find it difficult. Think I did the spark plugs while I was at it too.

Default 2” gundo

Did 2” gundo on my 997.2 and it sounded like a “broken muffler”....DFI engine sound is completely different than 997.1. Added the Billy boat center coupled with fabspeed dual intake and it is transformed!! Finally sounds like a sports car

I also think the Fister / Gundo just doesn't sound right on a 997.2. I did a center muffler delete and it sounds much better, I only wish it was a tiny bit louder.

what center did you go with? My exhaust is very loud, in cabin and outside - definitely wouldn’t want any louder

Wasn't that bad for me - once I took off the bumper. Tried taking off the old mufflers with the rear bumper on and it just wasn't happening. Took the bumper off and it was easy peasy. My bolts/nuts had some surface rust but everything loosened without issue (but with lots of penetrating oil) and I reused most of the original hardware.

Also Billy Boat. I imagine your open air box is contributing to the sound.
