Default PDK OIL CHANGE

Just bought a 2011 Turbo S, it has 60,000 miles on it. I saw in the manual that they like to see the oil changed in the PDK at 90,000 kms or about 55,000 miles. Has any one on the forum done this or is it usually done by the dealer or indy, for those that have done this is it a difficult job.

Thanks

From what I know it must be done by an Indy or Dealer with PIWIS. My dealer did it for like $520, they by default want to swap out the pan but this is not necessary, if they do this the charge is like $1020 because of the $500 Pan. Tell them to do it without replacing the pan.

Disagree. Change the pan. It has the filter integrated into the pan. The pan is more like $380. My dealer wouldn't do it unless the pan was changed. It's a 6 year/60k item, not frequent.

Shop around and although it calls for 6 litres it only will take 3.5 or 4 litres if they do a drain and fill. From previous posts the filter isnt much and has been pretty clean on the one that the fellow saved the pan.

Maybe you feel the pan should be changed because they forced you to do it.

Nope. I had a brand new one installed because that is what is recommended and because it would be unwise not to since it is the filter element. It's only ~$400, but to each their own...

correct, not an easy DIY unless you have PIWIS

Someone on here shared photos of the filter at a certain mileage and the filter looked very clean.
With that said, Porsche only recommends pan replacement if the drain bolt hole is damaged during drainage. This damage occurs mostly on early model PDK cars.

Fluids for the PDK are now on a 10yr, maybe 120k mile cycle. The PDK in the 991.1 and 997.2 is very similar.

FCP Euro sells a PDK kit with a genuine Porsche pan, bolts and 6 bottles of Pentosin for $500.

+1 agree. Just had it done on my '09
did not change the pan. Didn't need to.
Not a DIY unless you have the correct software to run the service sequence.

I have an '09 and did change the pan by default. Even with a later car, I think I'd have it done. ~$500 is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
