It might or it might not, so it's worth a try.

I have brought my boat battery back from the dead that way after it sat dead for a few months.

OTOH, some batteries are just goners so don't be sad if your battery maintainer doesn't do the trick. My FIL's Avalon sat for several months after he died last year and when we finally went to pick it up, it would start with a jump but the battery was weak even after running for an hour or two. After two lengthy sessions hooked up to my Battery Tender, it still crapped out. It was just too far gone.

About to purchase a CTEK for my new to me Cayman.

Anyone have any clue / opinion about the 3300 VS the 4.3?? or any other models??

Guy I bought the car from had the 3300 (wouldn't let me have it lol) with cigarette adaptor.

Just wondering about the 4.3 (8 step vs 3300's 4 step).

Furthermore...What's up with the majorly more expensive 7002 model?

I've used Battery Minder Plus for years and it's been great.

That is a very old version and not very good. The CTek is better.

Inexpensive and great warranty/service.
I use these on all my cars. Cheap from PepBoys, or wherever.

Its just a lead-acid battery guys...nothing uniquely "Porsche" about it (unless you bought a Porsche brand battery from a dealer, then it is "uniquely $400" made by Bosch just like the $100 version.)

I just ordered the newer version of the 3300 ( The 4.3 CTEK) and a few accessories today. There may have been cheaper options, but oh well. Seems the CTEK is well thought of here.

No brand awe here. It has to do with product quality and reliability. Cteks are better made but even those fail, just fail less and seem to have a safer failure mode. I have seen the small Battery Tender fail and cook batteries with acid dripping into the tray... Your decision.

Also... once running check the unit's and the battery temperature after a while (6 hours) to make sure it is not running out of control.

Also a safety thing since you always have access to battery terminals outside the frunk in case the battery runs flat and you can't open the hood.

I have this solution and I have routed the cable and the quick connector so it's resting behind the wipers under the frunk lid. Then I can always see battery status from the car and pull it up for easy charging

The quick connector has to be purchased separately.
I just ordered this set up exactly, and thanks for your input! So your indicator sits out there in the weather on occasion? No issues?

Just bought a CTek 3300 and the cigarette lighter attachment. Seems to work well. My local dealer wanted $200+ for the Porsche Branded one, I know Suncoast sells it for $120 or so, but I still felt the CTek was a better deal considering I bought it direct from CTek for $90 all in with the charger and the cigarette attachment. If you buy off Amazon you can save even more, probably closer to $70-80 all in.

I have a black and decker with a cigarette adapter and it popped my fuse. Tried it on my wifes audi, with the same result. No idea why, perhaps the polarity is the opposite? Is there something unique about the Porsche ones?

Yes! No issues. The quick connector has a small rubber cap so there is no water coming in when it's not used
