Question lifter tapping

need some info, I have a 2006 997s with X51 power kit, I run Hoosiers , went to Robeling Road yesterday (DE). after coming off track I hear what I think is a lifter tapping, this only happens at Robeling Road , it stops after a few minutes , just changed oil prior to track event . I read some notes here about running hoosiers causing oil starvation, this does not happen at Road Atlanta , Barber , VIR .

Maybe consider adding a baffled deep sump. I have the MantisSport 2L one on my car, which also includes a windage tray and it's a nice unit. I paired it with the LN Engineering stainless skid plate

I have had the exact same issue with my 2006 Carrera S whenever I come off an autocross course or HPDE track day. It's been nagging me for years now. I just recently installed a Bilt Racing/LN Engineering 2QT deep sump with windage tray and baffles to hopefully reduce oil foaming and starvation. My next event is on Sept 16 so I'll let you know if it helped or not.

Last night was my first autox with the improved deep sump and baffles and I'm very pleased to report that I had zero lifter tapping after all 8 of my runs. The car purred like a kitten all night.
