Flying ducktail
Before anyone orders from www.flyingducktail.com, watch this video. My $1606.99 carbon fiber version does not fit properly. It squeaks going up and down and rubs against body.
I have been trying to resolve this issue with seller for close to a month, but unfortunately, and he has not been responsive.
Just want to be clear, this is not about my taste or judgement in design. The 997GTS 2012 is almost perfectly designed car. I don't race and wasn't too concerned over drag at 100+MPH.
It looks great when down, but it doesn't fit properly hence the noise and the seller will ignore the problem and blame it on your car. Buyer beware. Videos are on Facebook 997 enthusiast page.

{edit} Found the original thread. They've been banned from Rennlist. Probably for pushing a product and not being a sponsor.
It's still a good look. Platinum997 has a DIY thread he posted before these flying ducktail guys showed up.

Thanks for the info. The wing itself is pretty nice. It's carbon, so superlight. Just fitment issue and the US seller is terrible. I'm finding out that he is just a distributor. Terrible business person.
I remember these guys posting something a while ago. It looked intriguing but they weren't responsive to questions by the forum. Sorry you are having issues but thanks for the warning.

Saw the video. Fitment looks really good actually. That creak may be your spoiler mechanism and not the wing itself. hard to tell. (https://rennlist.com/how-tos/a/porsc...spoiler-384158) If it's striking the body at all and it does look like it is, you can easily adjust this via the spoiler mounting screws. Not as easy as adjusting the decklid but still adjustable. Looks like it just needs to move fore about 3mm. Maybe try that (and take up the body shop offer who said on FB that they'd do it for free)
Well, when you lay the spoiler flat on the screws, they are about 2-3mm off. Just redrilling the hold would fix it, but obviously the hole would overlap and the spoiler would be loose.
So, yes, as it is today, it does rub against the body.
Is there a way to disable the spoiler from going up automatically at 75?

I dry fitted mine and nothing rubs. As others have stated, go to a shop and have them install it. My wing makes a mechanical sound when the wing gets activated (with or without the duck tail). Mine also had a small gap but the shop that will paint the wing will elongate the holes for adjustment.
I saw the fb post and its unfortunate that he wasn't helpful but some of the bashing that goes on in that group by keyboard warriors is ridiculous. Moderators do a **** poor job as well. Anyhow, hopefully it gets resolved. He's been great to deal with on my end but I guess every case is different.
