Default Need help please - Auto-Win ..

My car: C2S 997.1 coupe

After a long search, I could not find an unequivocal answer to my problem..
I'm talking about the left window (driver side)

The window sometimes goes down and does not come back upstairs when I close the door.
The window often goes down two steps or one step. I also touch the door handle (an external or internal handle) and also touch the door switches.

When I close the door the window sometimes rises back and sometimes does not come back

I did a reset to windows but not sure I did it right.

Moreover,
I changed most of the parts on the door - new ones!
(Micro-switch, power switch windows and door lock, have been replaced to new ones) and still the problem is not resolved

Does anyone have an idea or a solution from experience before I go to a diagnostic garage. I hope I do not need to replace the engine of the window and open the door again.

At this moment. Once it works well and once it goes wrong .. it feels that the window is not learning properly.
The window on the passenger side works fine.

Many thanks in advance!

On the back of the silver interior door handle (the one you pull to open the door when inside the car) there is a plastic pin molded into the back of the handle. When this handle is in the closed position, the pin goes through a small hole that trips one of the microswitches. It's the switch that makes the window drop when you pull it and lift when it's closed. If this pin is worn, it might sometimes make the microswitch and other times not. Even if the pin is not worn, if you've had the door panel apart and you didn't adjust the mechanism on the backside properly by loosening the 3 screws, refitting the silver handle to get it in the right position where it sits flush when closed, then tightening the 3 screws, before putting the door panel back on, then even with a good handle, you still might not be making this microswitch correctly and that might be your problem. It might be easy to check. Next time the window is in the dropped position like it does when you're opening or closing the door, get in from the passenger side and press on this silver handle on the driver's door to see if that makes the window finish going up. If so, giggle it or lightly pull it out just a bit and see if the window drops again. If so, the alignment of that mechanism on the backside of the door card isn't correct or the pin on the silver door handle itself is worn.

Good luck.

Wow

Thanks for the amazing answer! Thank you Pete!

I very much hope it will solve my problem.

I did the test you wrote me. I got into the car. I closed the door and gently "played" with the inner handle. The window starts with DOWN, UP, DOWN, UP. Several times (it felt normal) and then the window went down and did not go up!
Then. I used the switch with the buttons. I dropped the window down and the window (for the first time) stuck down and refused to go upstairs. The window does not respond to pressing the UP button on the switch.
I did "reset". I waited. And it worked out for now.

I noticed that I was also "playing" with the handle (external) with the door of the vehicle closed to check if the Micro Switch was working. Still, sometimes it goes wrong and the window suddenly goes down 2 steps.

I have a feeling that this is really the problem you are describing ..

Question:
Can I get to this pin without removing the door cover? (Can I get to the pin just by breaking the silver ****?)

(I'm afraid I have not been able to understand exactly what I need to disassemble and what I need to look at)

Many thanks

The pin is molded into the silver handle

Once you know where the pin is you can find the little hole it goes into where of the microswitches is located. The silver handle is removed by pulling it open and removing the torx screw that holds it on.

Thank you! =)
Now I'm beginning to understand.
So there are 2 micro switches in our door?
I replaced this micro-switch: 99761312502 + 99761315102A05 + 3D1837015
I understand that this is not the same part (99761315102A05). Right?

You have some switches to replace. I replaced them all when I was in there. Window switches too, heck even the door seal if your carpet is moist.
Search for mine and others threads on it (bruce in Philly has a good one too). Some help getting the door handle ***'ly out if you've never done it before.
I'll look for the thread when I get a break.
Good luck.

I will note. While replacing parts (micro switches, locks, etc.). The mechanics did not unplug the vehicle's battery.

Does it matter anything?

Should the "reset" to the window be done after the battery is disconnected?

Thanks

I've disconnected the batteries in both my 997s numerous times, removed the door cards numerous times, and I've never had to reprogram the window positions in either of them. I don't think the battery disconnect matters. I'm a little surrprised though that if they didn't diconnect the battery before removing the door card that you don't have an airbag light on though, or maybe that connector isn't a level 1 for door card removal and is a level 2 for inner door panel removal.

Hi, I noticed something else. The side that makes trouble (driver). The window on the same side closes and opens harder. It seemed that the window was rubbing against the upper rubber band. Once it happens it goes down two steps or the window does not auto-Up to back ..
