Default max oiltemperature on 4.0Nickies in 997.1

Hallo all, I love my 997.1 4.0 rebuild engine and drive it regularly on the nordschleife. I use the MOTUL 300v Competion 15w50, now the question, during trackdays I monitor 120°C / 248°F, is this still okay for the oil, or shall I immediately install an additional oil cooler...
Thx Carsten from Germany

Assuming temps are for 20-30 min runs, your 248 is nothing to worry about. Your nickies handle heat better than your previous 3.6/3.8 lokasil bores.

Motul v300 has a flash point of 424 so zero issues there.

I'd be less worried about the Nickies and more concerned about you bearings.

Hallo and thx for the quick answers
To make sure:
oiltemperature is high, but Motul can handle it, cool!
bearings are all new!
some of the most signifant bearings that might brake are also replaced by better ones, like the famous IMS one.
Car has now 425HP messured and up from 4500rpm more then 400NM torque.
in one word: runs!!!!

during daily driving oilconsumption is less then 0.3l/1,000km on track higher, I assume a lower oiltemp would helpto decrease Oil consumption on track.
but let's see, when I was at Spa-Francorchamps, I love this one too.
Last time there car made an excellent stint with a low 2:42min round

Sorry for bad english, iphone writing is not that comfortable...

Lower oil temps (not too low of course) will always add to engine longevity. Modern engines run as hot as they do for emissions, not long life.
