Default Porsche Technical Bulletin for 2009-2011 PDK cars.

I found this bulletin on the NHTSA government site regarding the repair of the PDK temperature sensor as a cause of "Gearbox emergency operation" being displayed.

I've been seeing post regarding this transmission (having one myself) and hope that this will give some insight or a basis for claim for those who have had this indication.

Attached is the link to the NHTA site and a .pdf of the official Porsche Technical Bulletin.

No, I did not.

Since it's a "Technical Bulletin" and not a RECALL, I guess that it's up to the dealer how he handles this. At least that's my take but I have no basis for that opinion.

Having said that, it's good to have this official Porsche document around should you confront the dreaded "Gearbox emergency operation" message. So keep this reference and/or hardcopy in a handy place much as I've done.

Notice how complex the procedure is, namely the bolt removal/re-install sequence of the hydraulic module, and the stripping/crimping of the sensor change.

I had this procedure done just before warranty expired. I wrote a bit on it in another thread ... probably a PDK repair thread. It is a very intensive and exacting process and essentially you have one chance to get the re-crimp correct else there is not enough wire for proper operation (as per my service manager who is considerably knowledgeable on this matter - as they've done several in their shop).

Mine worked out just fine and have not seen the emergency run message since ... two years and counting with numerous track days as well as street driving.
