Looking for Opinions on this 996 Turbo
Hi Folks I figured I'd go to the experts here.
I'm going to be selling my 996 Turbo and wondering if I should remove the orange wheels and side script before I market it. Not everyone's taste I know, but I really liked it.
I can go back to the original wheels. They need to be refinished...........I can powder coat in black or original silver? The orange ones can be used for track wheels if desired.
What's your opinion on this.
Thanks,
Kevin

Having been at enough dealers through the years, my opinion is silver wheels, removed vinyl and as close to stock looking as possible and it will reach the most possible potential buyers vs. how the car sits right now.
Right now your buyer could completely write the car off of his list due to the wheels and may not even give it any consideration.
That is just my opinion.

I like it a lot. Nevertheless, I think if you bring it back to stock, you will reach more buyers which will increase your odds for selling for more $.

If it's a good deal no SMART buyer would walk over different colored wheels. Understand that you're asking that question here on Rennlist. Sometimes I question these people's thought process here. If someone wants to walk over simple wheel color, their loss.

You can question buyers' thought process all you want, but if you're a seller, you want to appeal to as many buyers as you can. However valid their thought process, there are more potential buyers for a car with silver wheels. No one here has said they would personally walk.

Thanks for the comments gang, my gut feel was always to go to original stock for the broader market appeal, but figured I put it out there. Including the aftermarket Head Unit with Nav. I have the original.

I'd say return to stock as others have said. The orange probably won't appeal to everyone. I passed on a higher-mileage 997.1 turbo based on stickers all over the bodywork, and ended up with a lower-mile 996 TT with no stickers.
