Do what makes you happy - not the rest of the world.

Obnoxious is not what you drive, it's how you act.

You will appear smarter than your years. Not entirely a bad thing.

This reminds me that I need to get a Porsche jacket and fanny pack

To Indiana - I think people might praise you for your wisdom and not think it's obnoxious. If you're worried about what a tree-hugger friend might think, garage the P-car under a cover and don't show it off. Don't post pics on IG and FB.

A Lamborghini Gallardo with straight pipes would be obnoxious. Next to one of those, pretty sure a 996TT would be invisible. Unless you put on a huge wing and straight pipes...

Got a few chuckles after reading through the responses, I don't do social media so there wont be any posts with me and a fanny pack, but I am a tad obnoxious...if you couldn't already tell. Not obnoxious so much as loud...which often are one and the same.

Halfway through the responses, I realized I am asking a biased group. In essence I am calling you all pompous and flashy...which was my fatal mistake.

Just as an example of caring a little bit about what others around you think, but still making the right decision (in my book anyway)...
I have two jobs. Main job I sell construction equipment. I.E. I talk to good ole' boys that drive Ford trucks all day long. I work where everyone drives a Ford truck. And I park next to all of them in a 996 turbo. I get teased daily... but screw em... my car costs less than every one of their new $50k + trucks and it's what I enjoy driving at the end of the day.
My second job... I'm a charter captain for Tarpon fishing. Another job where they expect me to pull up in a full size truck of some sort... and I tow my boat with a Cayenne.
Point is... at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. Get what makes you happy... don't worry about what other people think... truth is they don't think about it as much as you think they do/will.

BTW... my soon to be next car is going to be a R32 Skyline... and I'll be wearing my Paul Walker shirt every time I drive it. And nobody in the lineup of Fords will know wtf it is... or care.
