Default Bose speaker upgrade question for someone whose done it

I recently replaced my Bose speakers with JBL GTO329's in my 2004 996tt cab. I have the stock HU and amp.
Questions I have are did you run keep the Bose tweeters in parallel or take them out? Second question is did you use the bandpass capacitors that came with the 329's? Third question is has anyone tried to replace the 4x6 Bose sub in the stock sub box ? Thx all.

Disconnect/remove the Bose tweeters, and use the crossover + tweeter that are incorporated into the JBL's.

John are you running an otherwise factory stereo setup with these speakers in the sub enclosure?

No, I installed a complete system years ago. The only difference from the attached link is that I went with a Pioneer AVIC 8100 NAV head unit recently and swapped the rear fill Hertz speakers to 2-way Morels.

Mine is a cab so all I have is a pitiful (1) 4x6 sub speaker. To my original question, do you all recommend using the bandpass capacitor to block the bass? With it's sub the car has a shortage of bass but not sure I should be asking the 329's to provide any of it. The only speakers bigger than the 329's are the 5.25 door speakers which I haven't replaced yet.
