996 Turbo CDC changer
Hi folks,
Maybe I can get some input on this. My CDC (changer) in the trunk has been out. I went to the dealer (The Collection) and I was quoted an outrageous sum to replace it and the harness. Everything came out to almost $2K, including labor.
Has anyone found a CDC non-factory replacement that worked with the rest oif the radio-navigation unit.
If not, has anyone replaced the whole thing, Navigation, stereo, CDC? I am sure the local stereo shop can do the WHOLE thing at half the dealer's price (for just the CDC.
Any advice will be welcomed.

When you say it's "been out", do you mean it was previously removed, along with the harness?
If the stereo otherwise functions as you desire, and you just want to add CD changer functionality, my approach would be to try to track down a used CDC and install it myself.
Once you get to the point of having a stereo shop rip everything out and install new everything, you're going to easily be out $2k+. I also wouldn't really trust a stereo shop with my car, but that's just me.

hook up a bluetooth to the rca for the changer and stream music from your phone. I like spotify premium and you can play any album or song anytime.
