I'm not a huge fan of the stock 19's on my '07 Boxster. Makes the front rotors look a little small and the rear rotors like toys! I much preferred the stock 17's on my old '01 Boxster. The rotors on those wheels filled out the space nicely. I even fitted my old 17" CCW's to the '07 after I got a flat on the 19's. To me at least, it looked better than the 19's, but the tire sidewall gave it an "aged" look.

The 18's on the TT are the perfect balance of "sporty/modern" short tire sidewall and nicely filled out wheels with the calipers.

To each their own, but my vote is 18's on the TT. YMMV...

I am lusting after the Gulf livery HW but won't spend the money...I did get a set of the 2015 Wal Mart Porsche 8 HW collection...

Wife asks me why I buy HW when I have some of the real things---no answer...

IMO I have it as follows:

17-18" for 993
18" for 996
19" for 997
20" for 991

Why Porsche gave the 991 GT3 RS a 21" rear I don't know, but it's plain stupid. Looks awful!

Just curious..When you bought the 8 car collection did you buy them all in one shot or did you find those in stores over time? I only recently started buying HW's and I found those 4 GT2's I posted on a couple trips with my kids to various local Toys R Us over the past year or so. I always go through the HW section at any store we are at that has 'em. Been lucky a few times

go-hasten-I bought the set of 8 all together off EBay. I found some of the models at Wal-Mart for .96 cents, but I could not find a couple of models. I kinda have a self guide that I will buy any significant hot wheels model if it is clearly show on the display-but lately I have been digging through the pile. Dollar general had a deal, buy 1 HW, get two free, Dr cheaps knind of deal. found a Mclaren, Bimmer and Mustang. Went back and all that was available is some of the junk fantasy models. I define significant HW models as those that represent singnificanr real world models; Ferraris, Porsches, McClarens-sp?-Conrads, jags etc. even have a VW bus, Myers Manx,WoO sprint cars...

Gotcha, yeah that's pretty much what im doing too. Im not a fan of the fantasy cars either. Recently picked up a Carrera Gt, 997 GT2, a really nice Bmw 2002. For a buck a piece they are just too cool to pass up! I was really happy when I found that first rubber tire gt2 then a couple months later found another one. Pure luck.

In general larger diameter wheels prolong tire life.

but does anyone here have the special edition metal Sally from Cars?
getting back to wheels, I had 19" on my old 993 turbo and it rode and looked great.
18" tires are expensive enough.

my next set of wheels might be 19's with 997 tire sizing...lots of good extreme summer/DOT-R available and much cheaper than 18"
