Congrats on the purchase and even better that it's an X50 car.
Seems like there are several of us from the Seattle area that have picked up 996 turbos in the last few months. I bought mine about 2.5 months ago and am loving every minute of it.

How is the ride with Champion springs compared to stock springs?

I think 20" would look terrible on a 996tt, lowered or otherwise. Goofy as ****. Even 19s don't look good imho. The car's wheel arches and its whole design really were styled with 18s in mind.
Have you taken a look at 996 GT3 wheels? The proportions fit naturally and it's quite a different style from the turbo twists.

Sent you a PM re Bluetooth
Car looks great
I would definitely stick with 18's
I am keeping mine stock, HRE would be my choice for an aftermarket wheel, stay away from RTF. There is '7 turbo thread detailing why.
Enjoy

The ride is very compliant. It does not skitter or hop around on rough pavement.
It is the best spring i have used on a Porsche.
I would recommend them highly with 19 or 20 inch tires.

Your 996 is a Turbo - it deserves nothing but the best: HRE's.
Here's one lowered and with P40's

Do you have a link to the thread? There is a set of RTF's on here that I was super interested in.

Welcome and congratulations on the new ride.
if you like the pull now and it has a stock tune, get ahold of Kevin at UMW for one of his tunes. The difference it made on my x50 was night and day.
Agree with some others here about getting a quality set of wheels.

Nice find and congrats...enjoy and welcome.
I concur with others...do NOT put 20's on that turbo. I put 19's on mine (granted I have C/O suspension) and the ride quality degraded significantly. 20's will only be worse. I too think 20's look absolutely silly on a 996. They built the car to run 18's. After two sets of 19's, I am sold on the overall look, feel, handling on 18's.

I am pretty much set now on sticking with 18s possibly open to 19's. 20's are out based on feedback here. Going to get the lowering done first and then hunting for nice wheels....
