Clutch pedal stops before hitting floor
Hey Guys,
Trying to help a friend diagnose a car.
After parked for a bit at a shopping mall, clutch will not go down to the floor enough to start the car. Towed in.
No leaking front reservoir. Looking in tranny inspection hole all looks good.
Linkages all look good.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Is the clutch pedal travel distance shorter or is it that the clutch switch isn't engaging to allow start? In other words, have you looked to see if the clutch switch is being depressed when the clutch pedal is pushed as far as it will go? The reason I ask is that clutch switches do fail. They are cheap & easy to replace. So, I might start by swapping the clutch switch. But, if you have looked to verify that the clutch pedal is not traveling far enough to touch the clutch switch plunger, then probably something else.

Does parked for a bit mean a couple hours or days, not sure that really matters unless it was acting off before parking.
If you can row through the gears, I'd consider skipping the switch with a fuse and see what happens when you start it.

A couple of hours and bypassing the switch to start it and no difference. You can row through the gears with the car off.

Long shot, check the pin that holds the front of the clutch helper spring can to the top of the pedal. If the clip has come off the pin could work its way out and foul on the pedal mount.
