Slippery Slope...

You can do what you like with your car. My point is, why do it with a really nice example? There are plenty of clapped out 996's out there, just pick one of them.

Very very nice, I nearly went down this track before selling the Turbo & going the GT3 route. So much potential in the Turbo if developed, In standard form they are too heavy, pretty much a flying lounge suite! would be interested to hear your feedback once the car is RWD.

Thanks...yea the gt3 route is an easier path to go however the cost is probably at least double if not triple what I am in this car for. The weight reduction was mandatory.

Figured I'd update this...coolant lines pinned, new getty wing, end plates to match calipers, 2nd Joe toth splitter and dive planes bumperette delete... Also lower HVAC relocated and window switches also relocated. Ready for the track season

Nice job loosing the rear bumper ****, getting those 6mm bolts out is the hardest part of removing the cover.
Have you weighed the car as is now?
I'm at 3343 with 13 gallons, one rear seat, no wiper, no sub and no spare.
Everything else is still in there.

Three Wheelin'
Nice, I've thought of doing something similar with the rear bumperette area.. Looks good.
Do you know what style HREs are those that came on the car? Those look awesome for a street wheel setup.

Thanks I think they were 545r but would need to confirm that. They were ok but older style for sure.

Joe, if you've disconnected PSM then you can get rid of the Yaw sensor which is just ahead of the shifter.
Sunroof delete with GT3 OEM roof panel will remove 27lbs from the highest point in the car.

Haven't disconnected PSM yet I think you briefed me on this but forget how involved it was.

i'm going to do it on my next fiddle with the car episode per pdrhounds tip also.. it's a nuisance to have to hit the button all the time but less a nuisance than full time PSM lol. i need to before my new "no psm" license plate arrives
props on your car. i like these better with track/race setups than the staid old gt "style" they came with.

isn't it as simple as disconnecting the plug?
