Frustrated - thinking of selling
So I am getting a bit fed up with the car.
2003 with 74K miles (119K kms)
I bought it about 2 years ago knowing that it had no provenance and had been a track car with a fair amount of road rash. In the intervening time, I have
1. Installed new clutch and flywheel and associated hardware
2. Installed H&R suspension and all new front control arms
3. Replaced 1 radiator
4. Replaced windshield
4. Installed Double DIN unit
5. Installed 997 GT3 seats
All of these were done to upgrade the car, knowing that body work would be the last thing to be done.
Since then, I have chased a bad MAF and boost leak, had the caliper bolts back out of the driver side front, and then my wife side swiped it... I now drive around wondering what is next. The accident damage is not terrible (dented and scratched rear fender, creased door, lower skirt, but given the colour (Arctic Silver) and the road rash from the previous owners, the car needs a respray and a bit of body work.
I am debating whether or not I should just sell and take my lumps. If I could get $30K USD, I would take it and move on. Anyone interested?

That's all minor stuff, your just bummed the wife hit it. Take a step back, you bought a car that was tracked and had known issues. It sounds like you are addressing those issues. Show me an issue free used car and I'll show you a goose they lays golden eggs. Have you filed a claim to repair fender bender?

I feel your pain! I think Atrox may be right though. Before doing anything, take a step back and try to figure this out. First off, the worst time to sell is coming up so either way you should wait a bit.
Have you had any estimates from body shops yet to make the repairs? Perhaps you could look at it from a different perspective in that you can finally get rid of the road rash etc...
Either way, good luck with your decision

It's always painful when you spend money modifying/improving/addressing neglected maintenance or performing preventative maintenance on a car and then something happens whether it be damage to the car or a part failing. Give it some time, address the body work, and you'll get over it. If you're that fed up with it, selling is an option but I don't think you'll recoup any of the money you spent on the car over the past 2 years.

Just one radiator? Oh you poor baby. When you replace all 3 then you can bitch.
Clutch is a wear item and can go at almost any time. My 2003's clutch at 120K miles showed no signs of wear so they can last if not abused.
The other stuff is just you making the car more like you want it.
The accident is unfortunate but you know what happens.
Just a few weeks after buying my 2003 Turbo I hit a mule deer out in NV on 50 highway just west of Ely, NV. Long story short about $25K and 2 months later the car was back to its pre collision condition.
Required a new front bumper, new passenger head light assembly, new front trunk lid, new passenger fender, new passenger radiator, A/C condenser, 2 new tires, a passenger side front wheel (scuffed and wheel refinisher ruined it), and lots of paint blending. Car is artic silver.
I am not up on the Turbo market but I have to wonder if you'll get $30K for the car as it is. 'course, if you are really ready to move on then create an ad for the for sale section and probably you would want to list the car for sale at other sites or in magazines like Panorama and Excellence.

Kind of sounds like you have buyer's remorse, or you may have bought the 996tt on a whim (which is understandable because a 911 is an emotional purchase).
Life is short. Ponder what would happen if you sold the car. Will you be happier? Do you want another vehicle? Not want another car? Finances in order?
Good luck!

I would sell it and move on. but I am a realist lol. It will be cheaper to take a hit and buy a car with good records/condition than to spend good money after bad= you will just get deeper in the hole.

Windshield is a wear item. The Boxster has had one and is getting close to needing a 2nd replacement. Pits. Rock chips. The Turbo's glass is original but it is getting quite pitted and rock chips are part of the experience.

If you know a body/paint guy that wants one and can do the work, they may be willing to pay more than others.
You're going to pay one way or another to have what you want.

^^^ This.
You know it has a new clutch, flywheel, seats, windshield, radiator. You know other problems have been sorted. You know the scrape is relatively minor.
It's the devil you know. The difference between what you'll get for your car and what you'll pay for the next could cover everything your present car might need for the next 2 years.
