600 bones of "savings" since the motor is out and the bumper is off??? Sounds like your mechanic needs to make a boat payment or something. The bumper comes easily and having the motor out doesnt save much in time as far as replacing exhaust components.

THe $600 savings for the engine out/bumper off was incorrect. I just ordered a 2.5 quite from John at Speedtech and I'm going to install it myself in a couple of weeks (my coolant fix is hopefully done Saturday). The best advice I had was to replace the front O2 sensors on the stock exhaust which will help make the Speedtech install a breeze.
Once done I'll post all the changes. A quick description is that my coolant lines are now pinned, hoses, o-rings, water pump, spark plugs and a coil replaced..... and I talked my wife into a kick *** exhaust. John.........you better come through!
I hope to get my car back Saturday before leaving for another week.

It's done, I picked her up this afternoon!! It's unbelievable how much I missed driving it.
Replaced:
Water pump (good thing I did....the seal was starting to go)
all seals
all hoses
everything pinned!!
drive belt
Plugs (they looked bad, definitely not replaced at the 60K)
New coil on #6 cylinder (2 previous error codes)
Obviously, oil & filter, coolant, p/s fluid
Oil filter stand
coolant expansion tank
recharge AC
25 hours of labor which is less than I was expecting. All in all the cost was about $1500 less than expected.
Now I'm waiting on a new 2.5 "Quiet" X-cellerator Exhaust from John at Speedtech. I'll be replacing the O2 sensors (front) with the new exhaust. I may have to replace the 2 back O2's as I'm now getting an error code that says they are aging. I've heard the back sensors aren't vital. However, my Indy recommended I change them since I'm replacing the front. Should I order the bypass pipes from John if I'm ever going to track the car?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Lastly, I can't wait to wash the car tomorrow morning!

Awesome! Glad to hear all is well! Enjoy it now.
Cat delete pipes are good for a power bump but unless you are drag racing it I wouldn't bother. Cats won't hurt you any noticeable amount on a road course.

BMiller, you have 6 coolant fittings right above your leak. 3 fittings are fairly easy to fix, the other two require a partial strip down of the engine. The last fitting at the oil/water heat exchanger will require a engine drop.

Yea....I am starting to disassemble the top end Y pipe, TBody etc and then will do some scoping. I just had the gearbox out (sans engine) for a clutch/LWFW swap no less than 6 mon ago

Really depends on your plans for the car and budget. If you can drop the trans and engine yourself on a Harbor Freight table, I'd go that route and replace everything rubber and old while doing the fittings. Your peace of mind while driving it and resale are both better when you do more preventative maintenance but the cost can climb quickly.
I did a bunch of stuff while mine was out for a trans rebuild because it's a lot easier on a table. There are a couple threads that show people doing this fix in-car but they may be small handed masochists. At least you have some nice relaxing bird sounds to help with the trauma
