New 996TT owner
I just picked up my new to me 2002 996TT meridian metallic with black interior. I flew up to Seattle on Friday to close the transaction and drove it back to SoCal, covering about 1,280 miles. I have been in the air-cooled pcars the last 16 years and this is my first non-aircooled pcar. Honestly, driving the 996TT is a blast going through the winding roads in Oregon and the straight and flat California Interstate 5 Fwy. It's all stock, with 86,000 miles, 4 owners before me. It passed PPI at Cantrell's and it has maintenance records from new. I will be around the 996 turbo forum now to learn more about these fantastic cars.

Welcome cpn! Beautiful car.
I would also suggest that you get familiar with the NA 996 forum as well. There are a lot of common parts (it's the same platform), so a lot of the same issues. Plus, a lot more people are on that board. So, using both the 996tt and the NA 996 forums as resources is a good idea.

Those mats are NOT stock, you have been fooled. (Just kidding). Amazing cars, and you will definitely enjoy! Curious to hear your comparisons against your experience with the aircooled P-cars. Interested in purchase price if you are willing to divulge.....

Nice car, congrats! I saw that one on CL and just when I was getting serious about another 996tt I went back to look for it and was gone. Glad you found a nice example. Where are you in SoCal?

couldn't agree more. nice.. i'm going strong in my current one at 135k miles, and agree on the higher mileage provided as you say they are well maintained and "well sorted" is about right. i am no fan of stock myself though i understand the "value" added aspects.
but i also have no doubt at all it'll see 270K and beyond
i've also had a few of the older a/c's myself beginning in the 70's! had two in the 70's and then 2 in the 90's and two more turbos in this millennium....all completely different animals. welcome the the turbo section then! cheers and again, congrats on the pickup.
