Shaft is out! Is it possible to buy 3party shaft or do I have to spend a fortune at Porsche?

What's wrong with it? A good driveline shop could probably re-build it for much cheaper than a new one. The only 3rd party options are more expensive (and stronger) than OEM.

The joint that is connected to the weheel side is bad.

Outer CV, got it. Did the boot tear and leak out grease or is it just making noise?

I would find a local shop that specializes in cv repair before shelling out the cash for a whole new unit. Could save you a significant cash.

I was told at my local porsche Center that I had to replace the shaft because it's not possible to get a hold of loose outer cv joints to replace..

So I bought a used shaft, but when i check the part before installing, I think this shaft has the same problem..
What is the correct way to check if a rear shaft outer joint is bad when Not installed on the car?
