04 convertible top wire out of track
Hey all,
Are you all aware of a good cab issues forum? Looked around and was supprised that i didn't see one here.
I have an odd issue (I think), my top seems to fit well and operate normally except for a 3-4 inch section where the wire is not falling into the top track when closing. Its located on the passenger side just in front of the rear seat or where the elastic/spring is located.
I tried pulling on it and aligning it up manually as I closed the top with no luck.
This is my first convertible so not very familiar with common issues. With spring showeres here I want to get this fixed so no leaking.
Thanks!

Go over to the 996 forum and search, there are multiple threads on this. Not uncommon two or three causes. A good top repair shop can fix this in a couple hours.
Yours sounds like the elastic strap may be broken/torn away from one side.
