My wife would not only have killed me by now with that kind of a project, she would have burned the body and destroyed the evidence and had her boyfriend **** on the hole she buried everything in.

Scawt keep us up on the progress looking good! The Rothsport is a nice detail and worth every cent. The slight movement in the spine type never bothered me until it was pointed out, and I love how you can put it on with one hand and hear the click.

I'm still AWD at the moment.
Yes, the old roof has to get spot welds removed and re-sealed it with new welds.
Hahahaha @ KC, love it

Looking great Scott! You're gonna love it...
I would seriously reconsider using the Rothsport steering wheel QD. There is a thread in the racing forum here where one of these came apart on a guy in his Spec Boxster down at Sebring at full speed going through a bumpy section into a turn when his steering wheel disconnected and he smashed up the car. I am using the PMNA 997Cup quick disconnect. It's made by a company in Germany that makes QDs for F1 and other top level motorsports, chosen by Porsche for obvious reasons. It has very beefy roll pins with a heavy duty spring. The locking action is much more positive than the Rothsport or Momo. Just something to think about.
In case you know of anyone interested, I also have an extra PMNA 991CUP steering wheel I won't be using. It's 330mm so about 20mm smaller diameter than the 996Cup version. It's very nice, brand new in the box..

Hmmm, I just read that thread and it sounds like he wasn't sure or didn't double check the QR to see if it was locked. Rothsport is local to me so I'll ask them about it or see if they tested the failed QR. I had a different QR come off at Laguna and it was some scary stuff to get it back on and not crash.

I have had good luck with mine, of course years ago I started out racing a factory built fr500r mustang which had a spline type got and I got in a pretty good habit of pulling on the wheel a few times after I put it on, then again waiting on grid so I do the same in my ST1 car. I just can't imagine that Rothsport coming off.
