Default Ruf R Turbo conversion on X50 996tt

Is it cheaper to do since some of the upgrades are already there or does it make no difference? Can you get more power if you start with the X50? My ultimate goal is the R turbo conversion. I'm wondering whether to start with the standard or X50 car.

depends how much of a discount on the x50. it's a 6k difference from RUF. Unlikely the x50 is worth it if you convert.

The RUF 550 is closer to 600 HP actual.

Riz,

The RUF R Turbo 550 is the same car in the end, regardless of std or X50 TT to begin with (with the exception of TT/X50 differences from the factory). It is less expensive if you turn in your K-24's (X50), compared to turning in the K-16's for core credit.

My reasoning for saying the RUF 550 R is closer to 600HP is that I ran against Sean's from 60 mph to 170 mph and we were dead even. That is with my car at 600 hp.

The RUF is a very nice package.

The intercoolers and tranny on the X50 and GT2 are improved over their counterparts in the standard TT, I believe. I'm certain about the intercooler!
I am not sure if the RUF R Turbo conversion does anything to these components. It may not.
I have asked RUF for an answer to this and am waiting for a response.

YES A RUF TECH FLIES OUT TO YOU, AND CAN EITHER DO THE CONVERSION AT YOUR HOME OR A SUITABLE WORKSHOP. I THINK RUF WOULD FLY BACK OUT IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS(WHICH IS UNLIKELY) GIVEN THEIR REPUTATION FOR FANTASTIC SERVICE. I THINK A RUF TECH FLEW BACK OUT TO FIX A PROBLEM SOMEBODY HAD WITH A RUF SUSPENSION.
