Would you trade in your 996TT for a NSX?

Haha, funny thread.

Silly NSX owners, still a honda underneath.

Nice car, attention getting looks, but the car is getting rather dated with all the sharp edge, wedgy lines....

But compared to a 911 turbo?!? Come now, I wonder what they are on....

that is pretty funny. the nsx is a better comparison with the 996 non-tt. doubt many 996 non tt owners would trade for the honda, much less tt owners.

Not me. I have worked on a few. Neat cars for the money and GREAT daily drivers. However I still have a problem with the switches and guages etc from a legend instead of a fresh design. I think they would be more successful if they dropped an 8 in there as they had planned.

Is'nt the car dated??? Very little much has changed since it's introduction back in 1991, especially the interior...

I had a 1998 NSX for a while. There were substantive changes made to those cars in 1997 (6 speed, bigger engine, etc.). I really liked the car, and it was A LOT faster than you might think. It was certainly faster than a normally aspirated 996, and it cornered like on rails. The exterior design is pretty cool, but is indeed dated. The interior -- it was just cheap. Also, I had a "Targa," and there was lots of cowl shake and steering column wiggle over bumps. Last, the stock exhaust was very, very quit, and the car sounded like a sewing machine at idle until I changed the exhaust.

Overall, I enjoyed the car quite a bit. BUT it in no way compares to to 996TT. Not even close.

The NSX is supposed to be redesigned for 2005, but the NSX guys have been holding their breath for years waiting for it.

I say the NSX is more exotic then the TT, but I would rather own the TT over the NSX.

The NSX has stood the test of time, same basic exterior since 1991 and I would say it was definitely an exotic when it was introduced. Compared to the 964, Ferraris, Lotus, etc of that era, the NSX was an exotic. However, by todays standards, it is not.

IMHO, the 996TT is not an exotic. No doubt it is one of the best performing cars on the planet, but when I think exotic, I think Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren, GT40, etc.

"The NSX has stood the test of time, same basic exterior since 1991".

The 911 has had the same basic exterior since 1963 (the 911 and me have the same birthday ) So, after 40 years, does this mean that the 911 has stood the test of time also?

I doubt the NSX will ever celebrate a 25th anniversary, let alone a 40th.

What does that have to do with being more exotic or not

I guess with that statement you would also praise a Ford Mustang

The NSX is NOT substantially faster than a new NA 996. The last Road & Track test (NSX, 911, and Z06) had the same exact times 0-60, & 1/4 mi. The NSX is a very nice car that has many of the simlar qualities as the 911, esay to drive everyday, very good track car, nice looks. That being said the $90K base price is ridiculous, it should be about $20K less than that. Maybe that is why they are experiencing very few sales here in the states and offering substantial discounts
