Default Anyone ever wrapped their car to change the color??

I love my car but the color wasn't my first choice. I purchased it because of the history, maintenance, and condition. The car passed the PPI with flying colors so it was a no brainer. I'd love to change the color but fear a respray would negatively impact the future value of the car, has anyone ever considered or even gone through with a wrap? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

We had a discussion on this in the NA 996 forum not long ago. You might want to try a post there also:

I 'll wager a guess: silver. Nothing wrong with a silver car - there are just a lot of them.

Plenty of pics of wrapped Porsches on google image search for ideas. IMO matte vinyl does this car no justice.

I will agree if you mean black, that doesn't work on the 996 but matte white, blue or yellow would...IMO!

Stupid question, is all wrap matte? Surely a respray is not required post removal?

No, you can have pretty much anything you want from a wrap. I'm doing my car next year, to protect the paint but also do a change. Mexico Blue, matte white or matte blue of some sort.

Saw a very dark and nice purple Huracan the other day on Instagram and it looked killer. Not sure if that color fits our cars though.

Look up Viola Pearl on google, looks great on the 3.6t IMO and I would consider it if was looking to change.

All wraps are not matte. One of our PCA members just did an Orange wrap on a silver 997 (they did have to paint the mirrors) and it looks fantastic!

Did they also wrap the door jambs?

Big fan of well done wraps and may be doing one for my car at some point.

Thought about buying a silver car and then having it wrapped because there were so many silver cars on the market. I thought it might be fun to change colors every couple of years. I assumed a decent wrap would cost about $2,000. Apparently that's way low - figure more like $4,000 to $6,000 as I understand it.
