Default Saw New 996 Turbo Cab

Guys,

Spotted the new 996 Turbo Cab in Palo Alto last night. I did not know it was already shipping. I did not have a camera with me or I would have snapped a few pic's.

It looked very nice in person. Decent lines -- all as seen in the recent issue of Excellence.

Sorry I cannot offer more details -- other than the fact that dealers must be taking delivery.

Thanks. Have been lurking for some time, but not much to add.

I had a spot to buy a GT3 in LA, but took a pass. Just too busy right now to mess with P-cars. Love 'em, but not enough time to indulge right now.

I enjoy seeing alot of the guys cars here -- some of which are just spectacular. I also recognize some names (Konstantin) of some old 951 owners.

My last P-car was a 1988 944 Turbo S with a modified 3.0 liter turbo motor. Loved the power (450HP to the rear wheels). I miss that car.

Not to start a war here, but anyone doing some 996 TT vs. GT3 comparisons? They are obviously totally different set-ups. Just starting to gather info again.

;-)

Thanks!

Don't ask that question again!

There are many long threads on the subject...

Our first Turbo Cab arrived this morning. Black on black with X50 and Carbon Fiber. Not as nice as the Seal Grey one I drove in Birmingham, but nice nonetheless.

There is a silver (Polar?) one with a black top parked in our garage at work (in Orinda) with Carlsen paper plates. Showed up yesterday-very nice. Belong to anyone here?

Hi Jay M. I am originally from Orinda. Are you at Orinda Motors?

996TT - GT3 discussed "ad nauseum" on this board to take a quote from Oak. In short they are different strokes for different folks. :-)

No, our offices are in the Pinegrove complex. There are a number of interesting cars parked in the (locked) garage, including somebody's antique collection (half a dozen or so from the early 20th century, under covers, plus an immaculate 57 Chevy fuely convertible complete with continental kit). Maybe I'll take the Ruf by today and get some side-by-side shots (of the cab, not Chevy).
