I'd bet my only good nut that the other driver had their head buried in their phone and never even looked up to see you stopped in front of him. Sorry to see it but there are plenty of other cherry cars for you to find - push for the total. And make sure you get a doctor and attorney (other than you if necessary) involved ASAP.

Thanks again for all of the opinions/advice.
I spoke to my doctor yesterday, got a set of x-rays taken, and was relieved to learn last night that nothing appears fractured or broken. Still dealing with pain this morning, but no worse than yesterday.
My insurance company (Progressive) called me to follow up and offered me the option of 1) running my entire claim through them or 2) having them serve as my liaison in dealing with a claim against the other driver's insurance (American Family). I thanked them for the offer and told them since I had some experience in this area I would attempt to work with the other insurer directly. They say the attorney that represents himself has a fool for a client...we'll see if I prove that true!
Progressive asked whether they should keep the claim open and I asked them to do that for the time being. Hopefully my underinsured motorist coverage doesn't come into play, but who knows. I'll probably reach out to Am Fam today or tomorrow to let them know what is going on with the property damage claim and tell them I'd like a rental in the short term.
The turbo was loaded up on a trailer yesterday to go to the dealer here in Denver. For those familiar, Chance at Stevinson Imports is going to start tearing into the car to assess the mechanical damage and John from Stuttgart Auto Body (the Porsche approved collision center) is going to assess the body work.
I also wanted to give special recognition to Kevin from UMW. Kevin sent me a PM yesterday asking to call him. I've never had any contact with Kevin and he has never done any work on my car. Kevin spent close to an hour talking with me about potential damage and issues to look out for with my car as well as potential damage and issues to look out for with myself. Kevin is a complete class act and genuinely nice guy- he's definitely got my business in the future once this whole mess gets sorted out.
Below is a picture of the car on the way Stevinson. I had to start the car briefly to get it into position for the trailer, and noticed a significant engine vibration that wasn't there before - I'm guessing that's not good. Anyone want to take a guess on the over under for the complete repair estimate?

$25K+. In fact almost certainly more and enough more to declare the car a total loss. Partially I'm using my head for this guess but also my heart for I feel it is best if the car is totaled.

My price is right bid is $18,545
Did you have to pay for tow service?
Shame that rear quarter panel got creased, otherwise body work appeared to be easy to fix. That qp repair is gonna cost$$$

$19,600 with towing and storage pushing it over $20K.. It's a total...
I told the OP to start to look for a replacement car.. He will need 3 comps..

I'm a doctor, and one trend I've seen is someone in their 50s and 60s coming to me with headaches, and I deduced their neck was the problem--from relatively 'minor' injuries 20 years before!
You will need physical therapy [PT], an average of 3 months total, probably another round the following year. Add in the doctor's visits, PT costs, medications costs, work missed, then you are looking at a lot of $. You may feel over an injury like this in the near future, but in the years that come, the muscle spasm deep on your neck bones will not let up, and slowly build up until one day it starts causing headaches.
Now when I've seen people in their 20s-40s after a whiplash, I aggressively get them therapy, and sometimes meds for muscle spasm for example, so that they won't need further treatment years down the road. I also would let some other lawyer manage the negotiations...because if you are ever on the phone with the other ins co and say you feel fine that day, then they will hold it against you later if you don't.

Burning Brakes
My guess is $20k for repairs. I will be at Stevinson tomorrow... taking my car to replace the stubborn accumulator.
Good luck!
